About Us
Our Vision
A city where every young person, regardless of their background or ability, feels empowered, supported and inspired to reach their full potential in a safe and inclusive community.
Our Mission
To support young people ages 11-25 and their families across Leicester by providing inclusive youth services, recreational opportunities, wellbeing support, and pathways into education and employment.
We are committed to creating safe spaces, promoting personal development, and empowering vulnerable individuals - ensuring no one is left behind.

All About Our Story
Welcome, and thank you for visiting Young Adventures CIC. I’m Jakob Lawrence Simon, also known as Larry, a Leicester-based youth worker with a Level 2 qualification in Youth Work.
Young Adventures began in summer 2013, when friends told me they had nothing to do during the school holidays. I promised to come up with something. That summer, we took part in activities, played music on my street in Leicester, and created a name and logo together, with young people helping to design them.
When the holidays ended, I wanted to make the idea official and continue supporting young people. With guidance from my mentor and others in youth and community services, I began learning more about how youth services worked.
My journey had its challenges. After leaving college in 2014 and completing a Prince’s Trust programme, I continued pursuing my goals independently, completing online youth work courses. I went on to earn a Level 2 Youth Work qualification with JNC recognition through the NYA Academy, as well as completing a Community Leader programme supporting children and young people across Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
In 2025, I created Rebel in Me T-Shirt Mas Troupe, a carnival troupe by Young Adventures, marking another milestone in our journey towards becoming a Community Interest Company.
Young Adventures grew from a simple idea: to create something positive for young people to do. I’m proud of what we’ve built together, and I look forward to welcoming you into our community.

Young Adventures CIC is looking for a dedicated and reliable Treasurer to join our Management Committee. This is a fantastic opportunity to use your skills to make a real difference for children, young people, and communities across Leicester.
As Treasurer, you’ll help oversee our finances, ensuring that we remain financially secure and able to continue our vital work. Key tasks include:

Overseeing budgets, accounts and financial reporting
-
Supporting fundraising and funding applications
-
Advising on financial planning and sustainability
-
Presenting accounts at committee meetings and the AGM
💡 We’re looking for someone with good organisational skills and a head for numbers. Financial or book-keeping experience is helpful but not essential – training and support will be provided.
📅 Commitment: Approx. 6–8 committee meetings per year, plus some time for reports and accounts.
This is a voluntary role but offers a rewarding chance to contribute to your community, build skills, and support a growing organisation.
